KIDS' FUN RUN
Fit for Fun, Fit for LifeTM

Children of all abilities are invited to participate in the 12th annual Texas Children’s Hospital Kids’ Fun Run, presented by BKD. The non-competitive 3K and 1K event is the kickoff to the 2009 Chevron Houston Marathon weekend, giving all participants the opportunity to cross the official Marathon finish line!

Who may participate?
Every Child is a WinnerAll children ages 5-15 years (K-8), including children with special needs, are invited to participate in the 3K Run or Walk. Children with special needs may also choose to participate in the 1K Adaptive Run or Walk.

How to register
Online registration is available for individuals and school groups. Individuals may also download an entry form and mail a completed form to Texas Children’s Hospital. Pre-race registration is also available on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Marathon Expo in the George R. Brown Convention Center, Hall A3. The Kids’ Fun Run is limited to 5,000 participants.

Fee
Pre-race registration is $10. With registration, every child participant will receive a Fun Run T-shirt and commemorative medal. Admission to the Kids’ Fun Run Expo is free.

School group registration
Race fees will be waived for schools registering student groups (K-8). Coaches and chaperones must accompany school groups. School groups may be eligible for free transportation to and from the event.  This must be requested when registering online.

 

Please make sure to download the parent/guardian consent form from the site provided both in English and Spanish. Every child must have a signed form to participate. Mail all forms by December 27, 2008 to:

Supervision
Parents and guardians are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the event as well as supervising their child's participation during the duration of the event.  Parents and guardians are also welcome to run or walk with their child.

Coaches and chaperones are responsible for accompanying school groups and supervising all participation.  Coaches and chaperones are also welcome to run or walk with their students.
